I was so pleased to join YMCA Black Country Group’s Chief Executive, Steve Clay recently as we went along to inspect the finishing touches for the new YMCA City Gateway scheme in my ward in Wolverhampton.
It’s due to open its doors in August 2021.
YMCA City Gateway creates space to live, learn, work and play!
Services and facilities include:
-63 ‘City-living’ studio/apartments for young professionals / workers
-115 place Day Nursery for local families and city working families
-Community training area providing Learning & Skills programmes
-Commercial / Retail units for local services
-YMCA Administrative HQ, for YMCA operations across the Black Country
I’m really looking forward to its completion as it has so much to offer the people of Wolverhampton. From housing to childcare as well as training and community services too.
I used to work for this amazing charity so I know the huge benefits the work of the YMCA has on the lives of local people.
