Busy week in Children’s services – how you can get involved

It’s been a busy week in Children’s services this week. I’ve just been on WCR FM to talk to my friend Chris Allen about lots of exciting things happening in the city for children this summer including:

– Our YO! Summer festival which will see over 350 activities in the city offered to children and young people.- Our Young Traders Market programme, entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 30 can take advantage of special events being run throughout July. Anyone taking part can have a stall for free at our popular markets as well as taking the chance to enter a national young traders competition. More info coming next week!

– Our Playing Out initiative, where we hope to give more children in Wolverhampton the opportunity to do this more safely, easily and closer to home. To run a Playing Out activity, residents must apply to the council for a temporary street closure, lasting for between one and three hours. Applying is quick and easy – please visit www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/licences/lets-play-out
