I feel really blessed to have been able to join the team at Excel Church this afternoon at their event where they provided a meal to families, children and individuals in the community who were in need.
They recognised that during the school holidays there was a need to serve the community in this way more than ever and they did just that. Everyone was welcome.
The event was packed throughout the afternoon and I spoke to volunteers at Excel who work tirelessly to serve the community.
I also got a chance to speak with some of the people there who said that Excel and its community had saved them from alcoholism and other issues. It was obvious that the Church was their family.
I’d like to thank everyone at Excel Church, all the volunteers and particularly John Raj for hosting today but also for the hope and support that they provide to the community in Ettingshall all year round.
Finally, they run a kitchen every Tuesday from 12PM – 2PM where they serve food and drinks and are on hand for a chat for any members of the community who wish to go along. This is free and open to everyone.
