Horrendous fly-tipping at All Saints

Fly Tipping All Saints

All Saints is unfortunately one of the fly tipping hotspots in Wolverhampton. A few weeks ago I posted a video and pictures of some horrendous fly tipping in the ward. Alongside the other Ettingshall Councillors, officers and Pat McFadden MP we have been working really hard to not only get this land cleared but to deter future instances of fly tipping occurring here.We have managed today to get the land cleared, I went down to thank the team who were clearing the land who told me it was one of the worst cases that they had dealt with. So, how are we going to prevent this from happening again? Spread the word, there will be surveillance on this alleyway in order to deter the few selfish individuals who dump everything from mattresses to sofas to fridges on this piece of land. What will happen if they are caught? The Council has the powers to issue £400 penalty notices to individuals caught fly tipping here.In addition to this, if you live in the area and you are aware of neighbours who are plaguing the area by doing this sort of thing then you can report them either via me as the local Councillor or by e-mailing: Customer.Services@wolverhampton.gov.ukThere really is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. If you have bulky items like mattresses or fridges that you need disposing of then there are a number of ways that this can be done:1) If you have access to a car then we have two tips in Wolverhampton, which, between them, are open 7 days a week. Details of which can be found here: http://www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/rubbishtips2) If you don’t have access to a car then you can book a bulky item collection with the Council by visiting: http://www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/bulky-household-itemsWe have to get people to change their mindsets and understand that dumping rubbish in this way is completely unacceptable.

All Saints is unfortunately one of the fly tipping hotspots in Wolverhampton. A few weeks ago I posted a video and pictures of some horrendous fly tipping in the ward. Alongside the other Ettingshall Councillors, officers and Pat McFadden MP we have been working really hard to not only get this land cleared but to deter future instances of fly tipping occurring here.

We have managed today to get the land cleared, I went down to thank the team who were clearing the land who told me it was one of the worst cases that they had dealt with.

So, how are we going to prevent this from happening again? Spread the word, there will be surveillance on this alleyway in order to deter the few selfish individuals who dump everything from mattresses to sofas to fridges on this piece of land.

What will happen if they are caught? The Council has the powers to issue £400 penalty notices to individuals caught fly tipping here.

There really is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. If you have bulky items like mattresses or fridges that you need disposing of then there are a number of ways that this can be done:

1) If you have access to a car then we have two tips in Wolverhampton, which, between them, are open 7 days a week. Details of which can be found here: http://www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/rubbishtips

We have to get people to change their mindsets and understand that dumping rubbish in this way is completely unacceptable.
