What to expect from this year’s budget

Last night, we set our budget for the year ahead in Wolverhampton. Despite £235M of cuts to our budget from the Government, our Labour Council is working hard to deliver for the people of Wolverhampton.

This is what you can expect from our Labour Council in Wolverhampton:

– £1M will be spent on our youth strategy to support young people who are the future of our city.

– More good jobs and investment. We’ve already built 1,500 homes over the last 24 months with more to come.

– We’re continuing with our ‘war on waste’ and tackling the climate emergency and that’s why, from 1st May we’ll be opening our tips in the city seven days per week.

– In a groundbreaking first for the country, we are developing plans for a city centre solar farm on Brownfield land which will provide our fantastic NHS colleagues at New Cross with clean energy for their lifesaving medical care.

We care about Wolverhampton. We want to invest in our young people and create a better, more prosperous city for everyone.
