Supporting Black Lives Matter event

I’m really pleased to be supporting this event, where over two days, small groups will be taking part in socially distanced walks across the Black Country.

The 28th August is such an important date in Black History, here’s a few reasons why:

– August 28, 1833: Slavery was abolished in the United Kingdom.

– August 28, 1963: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, D.C.

– August 28, 2008: Then-Senator Barack Obama accepted the democratic nomination for president, becoming the first black man to ever win the nomination and bid for presidency.

But it doesn’t stop there!

If you want to get involved in what will be a fantastic multicultural event over this special weekend then please contact Black Lives Matter – Stourbridge for more information.

Please note, these events will be taking place with strict social distancing measures in place and other safety measures to ensure everyone is kept safe.
