In a few weeks, I will be sleeping rough to raise money for homeless people in the Black Country and Wolverhampton.
On Friday 8th March 2019, Olivia Birch for Bilston North, Wayne O’Brien (Labour Candidate for Bushbury North), Navin Mal and Miya Jhamat will be joining me to sleep rough for a night.
This is to raise money for homeless young people across the Black Country whilst we take part in the YMCA Black Country Group’s Sleep Easy event.
Since the annual fundraiser began in 2010, over £1m has been raised by hundreds of people who chose to sleep rough for just one night.
Whilst Sleep Easy is a challenging and eye opening experience, we will appreciate just how tough this is for young people facing the prospect of sleeping rough night after night in freezing conditions and in fear of their own safety. Together we can make a difference.
