Journey for Justice begins

When I returned from Palestine in 2015, I was determined that I wanted to ensure that young people have the opportunity to see and learn some of the things that I have been able to on the various programmes which I have done in the region since over three visits since 2015.

Many of you kindly donated to a fundraiser earlier this year, Journey for Justice, which has allowed me to send an 18 year-old student from Wolverhampton University to Palestine.

I’m pleased to say that she safely landed on Wednesday and is having an eye-opening experience of a lifetime. She has been brought together with young people from all over the world to experience and share the life under occupation with Palestinian youth.

Next on her journey will be travelling around occupied Palestine to witness the effects of military occupation, and accompany Palestinian youth in their daily life.

In addition to this, she is studying animal behaviour and wildlife conservation at Wolverhampton University and is spending some of her time at the Natural History Museum of Palestine to share her knowledge and skills to assist them in their biodiversity and sustainability work.

The museum runs all sorts of projects including one where they bring over engineers from Gaza and teach them how to grow vegetables where there is very little water or good soil. They then take these skills back to Gaza to support the people living there with sustainability.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to this fundraiser to make this a reality for this young lady.
