One of the things I enjoy most about being a Councillor is also being a school governor at Bilston C of E Primary School.
Yesterday, I attended the school’s teaching and learning committee. I was blown away by their commitment and dedication to early reading. They acknowledge that once children can read, the rest of the curriculum becomes completely accessible to them. The school value and are investing in early reading to ensure children at the school get the best start in life.
It was a pleasure to welcome Julia Farrell in to the school as we’ll be working together on an exciting new project there! Watch this space.
