Blown away by peoples support to help vulnerable children

Wow, once again I was completely moved by people’s kindness tonight in ensuring children in Wolverhampton don’t go hungry.

Lots of volunteers have stepped up, in a time when the Government wouldn’t, to ensure that free school meal families in Wolverhampton receive a food parcel.

Young Zayah pictured here delivered some parcels with her mum this evening and she told me that ‘children need to be fed, when you’re hungry your tummy growls and hurts’.

She knows why this is so important. My project is in addition to Wolverhampton Labour Council’s commitment to ensure all eligible free school meal children don’t go without meals this week.

The decision the Government made last week has been put to shame by many Wulfrunians who have joined the Council in stepping up to the mark.

Together, we ensured that dozens of children were fed across the city today, because we look after our own in Wolverhampton.
