My fourth shift at the asymptomatic test centre

This weekend, I did my fourth shift at one of Wolverhampton’s COVID-19 test centres where I’ve been testing those without symptoms for the virus.

If you’d told me a year ago whether I thought I would be testing people for a virus, I might not have believed you.

But, I trained to do this role as I believe that it’s important to get as many people tested as possible to help break the chain of transmission and reduce the spread of the virus.

May be an image of one or more people, people standing, outerwear, brick wall and text that says "ProShield"

Please remember that rapid testing is only available for people without symptoms of Covid-19 who haven’t been instructed to self-isolate by NHS Track and Trace.

They are most effective at picking up on Covid-19 infections in people who are not yet displaying symptoms.

I was working at the Civic Centre this weekend but there are other sites available in Wolverhampton.

The Civic Centre testing facility is open 8am-7pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday for people without symptoms.
