Wolverhampton’s innovative programme for social workers extended

I’m pleased to announce that Wolverhampton’s innovative programme which has seen social workers embedded in local secondary schools has been extended.

Nationally, schools make up the second largest source of referrals to social services after the police, so it makes perfect sense to embed social workers within schools where they can use their early intervention skills to work with children and families who may be at risk.

We have been delighted to be part of the Social Workers in Schools Programme over the last couple of years and are very pleased that it has been extended until the end of the summer term.

There is also now an option to extend the programme for a further 12 months and we are prioritising a discussion about this.

It’s innovative projects like these that were noted in our recent GOOD rated OFSTED inspection.
