The Royal Hospital regeneration officially commencing

I am pleased to say that the long-awaited regeneration of The Royal Hospital is officially commencing and will both transform and preserve a historic site.

Work has begun with the demolition of the old nurse’s block (facing Vicarage Road), following which the development of 192 new dwellings will begin.

The main building will become 38 apartments, whilst the former Porter’s lodge building will be converted to a café or shop and the land at the rear would be developed for further housing and apartments.

Letters are being sent out to residents and the developer will ensure that disruption is as low as possible.

I am excited that work is starting on a project that has been a long time coming and will continue the enhancement of our city.
