Supporting the Black Country Black Lives Matter movement

Today we joined a walk which started yesterday in the Black Country in support of #BlackLivesMatter.

The 28th August is such an important date in Black History, here’s a few reasons why:

– August 28, 1833: Slavery was abolished in the United Kingdom.

– August 28, 1963: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, D.C.

– August 28, 2008: Then-Senator Barack Obama accepted the democratic nomination for president, becoming the first black man to ever win the nomination and bid for presidency.

We walked over the weekend in solidarity as we remember these important events and that Black Lives DO matter.
