Stepping up to provide 180 back to school packs to vulnerable families

The new school term can be an expensive time for parents, so the Rotary Club of Bilston & Wolverhampton West and me have stepped in to provide back to school packs for local families in need.

With the added pressures that have been left behind in the midst the coronavirus pandemic, with some families and individuals experiencing job losses and tighter purse strings, the new school term has felt more expensive than ever for local families in Ettingshall and Bilston.

So, we have come up with an idea to support some of the families who have been hit the hardest.

We’ve funded a project being run by Excel Church in Bilston where we are purchasing about 180 ‘back to school’ packs for some of the most vulnerable families in the area.

The pack will contain much needed school items for children such as pencil cases, stationary, water bottles and backpacks.

As a proud Rotarian, I’m really pleased that we could do our bit to support local people.
