Planting MORE crocuses on Whitikkar Street

Eileen Ward Birch put me to work this morning in Ettingshall as we planted more crocuses on the patch of land on Whitikkar Street.

Ahead of World Polio Day on 24th October, the Rotary Club of Bilston & Wolverhampton West are planting crocuses to raise awareness about this awful disease by adding a splash of purple to our communities.

The reason Rotary choose (purple) crocuses is because when a child receives their life saving polio drops on mass polio immunisation days in many countries their little finger is painted with a purple dye so it is clear they have received their life saving vaccine.

Looking forward to seeing them bloom in the Spring! ?????
