New swings and see-saws for the upcoming park in Ettingshall

It was swings and see-saws at the new park which is well-underway in Ettingshall.

I’ve been so proud to champion this project and Spring will see a new park open just off Ward Street / Conningsby Drive in Ettingshall.

The park, due to open in the Spring will have: have a new play area for children, a multi-purpose gaming game, cricket area, adult gym equipment as well as a variety of new trees, shrubs, flowering plants, grassed areas and wild flowers planted.

I was thrilled to see the progress on a recent visit with the Cabinet Member in charge of the city’s parks, Steve Evans.

I’ve continued to work with the Council and local residents to bring this exciting project to life. It’s been an amazing journey to see this project go from consultation to reality.

As I sat on the swings a few weeks ago, I was hugely proud of what our Labour Council have achieved.

The park will bring so much joy to the lives of local families and residents and I can’t wait until everyone can enjoy the space.

Almost £800,000 is being spent on the park and earlier this year, I worked with the Council to roll out a consultation to ensure that residents got to have their say in what they wanted to see on the park before it was built.

Roll on 2021 for many reasons and this being one of them!
