#NationalAllotmentsWeek draws to an end

?????As we draw to the end of #NationalAllotmentsWeek, it’s been great to celebrate this year’s theme- growing food for health and well-being.

Wolverhampton currently has 1,100 allotment plot across 31 sites in the city.

The council is encouraging volunteer groups to self-manage allotment sites, like Howell Road in Ettingshall, where I’ve donated over £1100 in ward funds to help build new plots with raised beds designed for gardeners with a disability and provide an accessible shelter.

There are many benefits to renting an allotment such as growing fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh flowers at a fraction of the high street cost, enjoying a healthy outdoor activity, finding a place to relax, unwind and meet new friends.
