Marking Excel Church’s 6,000 food parcel delivery with the MP

It was great to be joined by my friend and colleague (and all-round great MP) Pat McFadden today at Excel Church as we marked the impressive milestone that they’ve achieved in delivering over 6,000 food parcels amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Coronavirus first hit the City, Excel quickly responded to the call from many vulnerable people in the community who were either shielding or in need of food parcels.

The Church set up a food bank and requests for parcels came flooding in from across the Black Country.

And, the project attracted a number of volunteers who quickly got to work packing boxes and distributing them across Wolverhampton and beyond.

It’s been a great honour to be a part of this project alongside great people like John Hamesh Raj, Fit Fast and Edna J Jardim Through the incredible work of volunteers like these, we’ve been able to feed the city through an incredibly tough time.

Thank you Excel! And, this incredible cake was made by ednas_bom_sweets, please check out their page, it was delicious!
