I’ve been nominated for a national award

I’m extremely pleased to announce that for the second year running I’ve been nominated for a National Award. I have been shortlisted for ‘Young Councillor of the Year’ at the LGiU & CCLA’s Councillor Achievement Awards for 2019.

I am up against some worthy competitors from around the country, so I wish everyone luck for the awards night.

It is such a pleasant surprise to be nominated for the award again this year.

I have only been a Councillor since last May, so I’m really moved that I have been recognised in such a short amount of time.

I feel really privileged to be the youngest Councillor in Wolverhampton and to be able to represent the people and area where I live and work.

Some of my fondest projects this year have included:

– Fundraising to send a student from Wolverhampton on a mission to Palestine.

– Working with the Sikh Toy Appeal to set up a ‘back to school’ appeal for local children and families.

– Hosting Wolverhampton’s first event to remember Jo Cox MP.

– Delivering Stop & Search workshops to over 1000 children in the city.

Thank you to everyone that has supported me!
