Increasing Good or Oustanding cases in Wolverhampton

Our social workers do an incredible job in often very trying circumstances and as a council, we will do all we can to support them in their role.

I was delighted to read the latest report from the city’s Principal Social Worker Jennifer Rogers who reports good improvements across the past year in delivering high quality social work practice. It has led to an increase of Good or Outstanding audited cases.

This comes on top of a good peer challenge which showed evidence of people building relationships with those they work with, and the city is one of some areas to be both recruiting and retaining social workers across the UK.

I warmly congratulate Jennifer and her team on the progress made, particularly within a pandemic that has changed our nation and is both a shining light supporting those in need and looking after our own residents.
