This week at Full Council, I presented the Wolverhampton Youth Justice Plan 2021-2022 which was approved and adopted.
This set out how our Youth Offending Service has performed in the previous year and also sets out our priorities for the upcoming year.I
’m really pleased to say that we’ve seen a downward trend in all of the following areas:
a reduction in first time entrants in to the criminal justice system.
a reduction in reoffending.
a 50% reduction in young people receiving custodial sentences.
Our priorities for the coming year will be around prevention and diversionary activities towards youth offending.
