Delivering a new play area

I was really pleased to welcome Cllr Steve Evans (City Environment) to my ward this weekend.

I’ve been working closely with both Steve, the officers at the Council and Persimmon Homes to bring to life a wonderful park and play area in Ettingshall.

We held a consultation last year where we listened to what families in the area wanted to see on the green space on the development just off Ward Street / Coningsby Drive.

I’m pleased to announce that following consultation and our work in partnership with Persimmon Homes. Section 106 monies have been secured and almost £800,000 will be spent on the area.

Families in the area highlighted that they wanted a play area for children, a variety of trees, shrubs, flowering plants, grassed areas and wild flowers amongst other things.

Our Labour Council will be delivering on this, with work starting early summer. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who responded to the consultation and we look forward to the development getting well under way (in much better weather) come the summer! https://www.facebook.com/bevforettingshall/videos/2869632699766874/
